Crochet some love and pass it on.

Michael's craft store is sponsoring a project called Warm Up America and a sister project for Canada. They are asking for donations of knitted or crocheted squares in any pattern, as long as they measure 7"x9". They in turn get made into blankets for charity. The Michael's near me has a basket at the front of the store to add the squares to. To find your local Michael's or for more information see the website. http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayArticle?articleNum=ae0095.

The new one has a pink tail. Posted by Hello
My sister and her daughter both had a baby last year, so I'm thinking of making each one a bear. Posted by Hello
Here's my 2nd bear, all ready to go. Posted by Hello

The first time I sewed the tail on it was too high and off-centered. I can see it's going to take some practice to get everything just right. Posted by Hello
And here it is, my first scrappy bear. Like me, it's not perfect but it has personality. Posted by Hello
I'm getting ready to sew the nose on. Now it's really starting to look like a bear. Posted by Hello
All the parts are machine washable.  Posted by Hello
The body and head are all one piece. The project is started at the bottom. I had to go to four craft stores before I found the eyes and nose.  Posted by Hello
Welcome to my crochet blog. I know some of you are happy hookers already. I hope you enjoy my first project. If you are already adept at single crochet (SC) and increasing and decreasing, this bear project is worth a go. I don't recommend it for complete beginners though.  Posted by Hello

Teddy Bear Build-along

I found this Scrappy Bear pattern on this website: http://www.denisecrochets.com/crobear.htm
I thought someone might find it useful if I documented making it. I'm about half-way done now. I need to find my yarn needle to sew the parts together.
